Image The Toyota Premio 2012 is part of the second-generation release of the model that was launched in June 2007. The midsize, four-door sedan manufactured at Toyota Motor Corporation’s Tsutsumi plant was fully redesigned with better features compared to its first-generation release in 2001. Its name was derived from the Spanish word for “premium,” “prize,” or “reward”—a fitting name for such an elegant and luxurious vehicle.

High-performance engine power
The Premio is available in three engine sizes and five packages. The 2.0-liter engine (2.0G grade) has a Superior Package and comes in two-wheel drive. This version is ideal for driving long distances and can go up to 15.6 km/L. The 1.8-liter engine, aside from the basic 1.8X grade, has two additional available packages: the EX and L Packages that both come in either two-or four-wheel drive. The 1.8 has adopted the use of valvematic, an advanced mechanism that allows for outstanding fuel efficiency and high performance at the same time through increased engine combustion efficiency, allowing the vehicle to reach 16.4 km/L. The 1.5L engine (1.5F) has two other packages, the EX and L, and all are two-wheel drive vehicles. Its low fuel consumption lets the vehicle drive up to 18.2 km/L. It meets the new fuel economy standards that have been established for 2015, based on the Law Concerning the Rational Use of Energy. All of the Toyota Premio 2012 packages have been certified by the Japanese Ministry Land, Infrastructure and Transport to have 75% less emissions from the 2005 Exhaust Emissions Standards.

Redesigned headlights and front fog lights

In all EX packages and the Superior package, the Premio now sports an auto-leveling feature for the headlamps and fog lights. This feature maintains a constant illumination axis to prevent glare from being directed to oncoming and preceding vehicles. A Con Light sensor automatically adjusts the lights according to available brightness. The rear brake lights have adopted LED technology, allowing for maximum brightness without consuming too much power.

Improved safety features
The Superior package has been equipped with a Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control that ensure the Toyota Premio 2012’s stability when driving on slippery surfaces and steep inclines. The Brake Assist feature senses emergency breaking to generate a strong and stable braking force. The Electronic Brake Force Distribution control distributes equal power to the left and right wheels during braking according to how the vehicle is running.

Other enhanced features
The other equipment and accessories of the Toyota Premio 2012 have also been improved. Drivers can easily open and lock doors, and start the engine using the Smart Entry and Start System. A navigation system has also been installed, and as an option, customers can also install the G-Book mX feature. This program updates the on-board map via internet connection. The vehicle also comes equipped with an Eco Drive indicator, which lights up when the vehicle is properly driven—that is, if it is operated in such a way that consumes less fuel.

The Toyota Premio 2012 has all these advanced features and more, so if you’re looking for an elegant, high-performance, and fuel-efficient vehicle, this model is surely the one for you.
