The importance of correctly estimating your guests for a food truck catering event

by FOOD TRUCK SPACES Creating Infrastructure Where There Once Was None

Are you planning an outdoor event? If so, you would need to choose a catering service to feed your event attendees. A food truck will be the perfect fit here. From hot dogs to exotic Thai food, food trucks offer anything under the sun. Plus, hiring a food truck is often less expensive than hiring a traditional catering service. No wonder why food trucks are popping up everywhere from corporate catering events, music festivals, fundraisers, wedding ceremonies, etc.

Before hiring a food truck, though, you need to carefully estimate your turnout and determine how many food trucks you need.

If you’re looking forward to a turnout of 1000, 1 food truck for every 200-300 guests is a reasonable number. Of course, food trucks don’t have a big kitchen with extra supplies – they simply pull up in a food truck parking lot in your outdoor venue and quickly set everything up – so once they run out they run out.

If this is your first time hosting an event, you may optimistically start off planning for a lot more guests. Keep in mind, though, attendance estimates can drop. Planning for much more guests and thus, more food trucks than you actually need will result in both money and food wastage.

It’s rather evident that getting the measure of your guest turnout plays a huge part in hosting a cost-effective event. On that account, estimate your guest count correctly and hire a food truck accordingly.
