The History of SEO

With technology driving most of what we do as a society, it should come as little surprise how many businesses have created online web pages and stores. The Beginning of Search Engines

With the evolution of the Internet, it quickly started to become clear that there was a need to organize the information on the web in such a way that users could find it more easily. In 1990, the first search engine was created to help with this organization of information. However, it was not quite like the search engines that internet users are familiar with today. As technology continued to become more sophisticated, so did the search engines. In 1992, Gopher was the first search engine to use hypertext. More “firsts” started popping up soon after, and by 1998, major search engines such as Google were in the development phase. Services for SEO in Atlanta and other locations would not yet come to be, although some examples of the process were starting to show up. This was because, as a way to fine-tune the search engines, there were processes developed to help with sorting web results by relevance to the keyword. It was soon discovered that the more relevant websites, which showed up first in results, often got the most traffic. It should be safe to assume from there that the better your optimization of your website, the more likely you are to get business. 

Discovery of SEO

In the mid to late 1990s, business owners were starting to realize and take advantage of SEO to try and find ways to draw more people to their websites. Thus, the trend was born and starting to become recognized.
