The Great European Clubs: Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona

India will get its own version of European leagues and soccer clubs when the home grown Indian Sports league takes shape this year, with the few seasons debuting between October to December, with a finals series determining the champion for the first year. The first season will have eight teams competing using a mix of Indian and Foreign players. The eight competing teams represent Delhi, Chennai, North East, Calcutta, Bombay, Poona and Goa. According to the rules all team must have 14 Indian domestic players in their roster, four of which being local players to the city.

The advent of the Indian league is a step in the right direction, hoping that it would nudge the cricket loving millions to take up and support this great sport, played by millions and loved by even more. It’s so simple this game really. All you need is a ball and an open ground; cricket needs more equipment than that. The popularity of the game has been fuelled by its myriad leagues which are there in Europe and South America, its many popular clubs and adored players.

Manchester United Football club - The British origin football club is one of the leading lights of the soccer league and an A list company. The club is based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester area that plays in the Premier League of England. Manchester United Football Club was first formed in 1878. It has won the most League titles of any English club. Manchester United Football club’s current roster includes defender Johnny Evans, striker Wayne Rooney and striker Robin Van Persjie of Holland.

Chelsea Fc Football Club – This iconic club is based in London and was founded in 1905. Chelsea had their first major success in the year 1955, winning the league championship, and won various cup competitions during the 1960s, 1970s, 1990s and 2000s. Barcelona F C – The pride of Spain and constantly rated the second most valuable sports team on the planet. It has a huge following and seen the magic of Lionel Messi and Ronaldino. It is a highly successful club team in Europe.
