by Ben Goodman ***

Are your vacation plans a little dull? Add some sea and salt to those plans! The French Riviera is the next best travel destination for your kosher vacations. Planning your Jewish vacation has never gotten easier. The majestic paradise that is the French Riviera stretches along the Mediterranean, and has some of the most beautiful beaches and coastlines.

Here are some reasons why you need to visit the French Riviera.

Hidden Beaches and Pristine Waters

The French Riviera is well-known for its beautiful beaches and aquamarine waters. It is world-famous, and for good reason! Plage des Marinières, in Nice, is a glorious beach where you can soak in the sun and enjoy the cool and relaxing waters. Another beach to explore is the Plage de la Mala, in Cap-d’Ail with a gorgeous rocky hilltop overlooking the shore with an absolutely spectacular view of the land and sea. The hidden Gigaro beach is also a place you shouldn’t miss out on. Explore the hiking trails and enjoy the freshest seafood delicacies at the restaurants, just a few feet away from the water.

Art Scene and Culture

After lounging all day at the beautiful beaches, take some time to explore the various locations and sites in the cities. Although not widely known, plenty of artists have worked along the riviera which includes Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, and Paul Cezanne. A city called Arles in the Riviera was also the final home for Vincent Van Gogh.

The Riviera is a popular art destination as well, and plenty of cities have a unique art scene. Musee de l’Arles in Arles showcases intricate Roman sculptures and artifacts. The Aix-en-Provence is the birthplace of modern art, with several art galleries scattered around the city. All the cities in the French Riviera have a unique aura, every location you visit you will be greeted by beautiful architecture, nature, and exquisite art.

Vibrant Coastlines and Lively Markets

There are plenty of active ports scattered throughout the cities. Port Vauban is home to some of the largest mega-yachts in the world, and walking past them will surely make you feel envious. While you revel at the yachts, you can make your way to Old Town where the lively markets reside. Find Fresh fruits, veggies, meats, and spices here and enjoy the wide variety of cuisines.

The French Riviera is best traveled during the summer months of July and August, so plan your vacation wisely. The vibrant cities, azure seas, and rich art culture make it a must-visit destination for your next adventure.
