The Four Important Places to Visit in France

by Steve Smith writer

I am just back from my holiday tour in France. The tour was an exhilarating one as I along with my family had a gala time in the French locales. A year ago, it was France that had the maximum impact of the European Debt Crisis which that had sent its economy in to a tumble; but visiting the country will not make you feel that at all. Everything is very well organized in this country and one can enjoy every moment here. In the year 2011, the country attracted some 79.50 million foreign tourists and hence the figure is proof to the fact that the country has not lost its charm till now.

Home to 37 UNESCO world heritage sites, the country is booming with many tourist hotspots. This is also one of the reasons as to why 6% of the country's income comes from tourism. Museums, historical monuments, wild life parks; you just have to decide on your own that which are the places you want to visit in France as all of them are famous and are flocked by tourists all the time. Well, we visited four important places in France that had left us as a travel maniac.

So, we began our journey by visiting the Eiffel Tower. This 1069 feet giant structure is open to all the tourists 24 hours a day and seven days in a week. It derived its name from its creator Gustave Eiffel who constructed it in the year 1889. The tower represents the magic of light. You can hire a guide always in order to know about the historical importance and other interesting facts about the tower.

Our next day stop was at one of the most famous museums on the earth the Louvre. The Museum features some of the exquisite art paintings including the Leonardo da Vinci painting of Monalisa. There has been much controversy regarding this painting. Other art works include the Egyptian, Etruscan and Greek antiques which are truly a form of inspiration for the modern day artists.

It was now time for some fun with my children and hence I decided to take them to Disneyland, Paris. They were truly excited and had a fun time meeting with the entire comic and the animated characters that they used to view in the television. Since, we visited this place in the late evening we were able to witness the spectacular night time show where the 20th extended celebrations were going on. All the Disney characters were brought to life with fantastic light shows and lasers.  The Disney village was equally exciting to visit as one can enjoy the Buffalo Bill's Wild West show with Mickey Mouse.

On the third day of our stay at France we visited Cannes that hosts the famous Cannes Film Festival each year. We were hoping to get a glimpse of some Hollywood or Bollywood stars but could not do so as our guide told us that there was no major event that was currently going on. Hence, we visited some other important places that was located adjacent to this iconic place like the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Provence Museum, the St Marguerite and St Honorat Island.

I had heard from my friends and colleagues that French wine is very famous and hence I decided to purchase a bottle for myself. Since, the country offered one of the most expensive wines of the world so I had to stop myself for purchasing only one, otherwise I might have brought another bottle. Some of the well known places in France that is famous for its wine are Burgundy, Loire Valley, Champagne and Bordeaux. It was due to shortage of time that I could not visit the place.

If you want to shop branded clothes from France then it is better to take a good amount of cash with you as some of the top rated fashion designer clothes like Dior, Louis Vuitton and Jean Paul evolved here. So you better need to be financially conscious while spending on these designer brands.

In the end it can only be said that we had wonderful France holidays and would also advice others to visit this extraordinary country.
