The Difference between Snorkeling, Skin Diving and Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is an activity that gives you instant serenity as you explore the marine world and its beauty.  Here you weigh nothing and can explore the various aquatic animals and countless species to be found underwater.  For most people diving is a hobby to be enjoyed over the weekend.  Meeting up with friends, they take off to various springs in FL, or to the ocean to enjoy themselves. For others, scuba diving is a career doing what they most love to do. They all have to start somewhere and usually that means taking diver certification before they can go on their underwater adventures. 

Going underwater can be in the form of snorkeling, skin diving or scuba diving and many novices do not know the difference. Well, skin divers and snorkelers both wear masks, a snorkel and fins.  Many times they spend most of their time swimming the water’s surface as they view what is happening below them.  The only difference is that skin divers will often swim down and the hold their breath as much as they most possibly can, before they have to go up to the surface for air. 

Scuba divers carry air in tanks which means that once they go under, they will not be resurfacing for air for a long time.  For this reason, scuba divers then to need more training as well as additional equipment in order to enjoy their time underwater.  Depending on what you prefer, you are the one to decide on whether you will snorkel, skin dive, or go Florida scuba diving. Of course if you are looking to get close to the underwater world it will be in your best interest to learn how to scuba dive. This will allow you to see species that prefer to live deeper instead of just enjoying those in the shallow waters.

A scuba diver can expect to have a lot more equipment that what the snorkeler and skin diver use.  All your equipment is essential if your dive is to be successful.  You will need the tank that carries air for the dive, a regulator set which comes with a first stage and regulator mouth piece.  You will also have a pressure gauge used to know how much air one has left in the tank.  An alternative regulator is also carried as a spare just in case you or your dive buddy needs one.
