The Brave Man Book Project Is Launched To Give Men Hope
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alberta, Canada (April 08, 2016)
- It’s time to give men voices when it comes to ending violence against
women. The importance of engaging men and boys in the fight against
family/domestic violence is becoming evident. This includes men who were
once violent telling real stories about changing their ways to
eventually have the redemption, wholeness, and love they sought in their
family lives. The Brave Man Book aims to bring these courageous stories
into public view and give hope to men who are on a path of destruction
that they too can break the cycle of anger, abuse, or violence.
The
Brave Man Book is an initiative to raise awareness about a segment of
family and domestic violence situations. The founder of this initiative,
Joan Lee Tu, is engaging the public and organizations that work with
men in order to create this resource for men. This is her second social
impact book project after publishing The Brave Book Project: Little
Readers to raise awareness about preventing child traumas and abuses.
Anyone who would like to help The Brave Man Book project can do so by
sharing information about it through their work or on social media,
contributing funds to the crowdfunding campaign (June 2016), or writing a
story or letter for the book.
Joan Lee Tu is requesting
original, unpublished, personal stories between 750-7500 words written
by men who caused family/domestic violence and who changed their ways.
She is also requesting letters from loved ones (i.e. children, wives,
parents, siblings, friends) of men who changed their ways. She intends
to publish the men’s personal stories and the letters from loved ones in
an embracing and compassionate way into a soft-cover paperback and an
eBook to be sold online. Written submissions should be sent in before
December 1, 2016 to thebravemanbook@gmail.com.
