The better choice between B.Pharmacy and D.Pharmacy

Those who wish to graduate in the courses related to pharmacy sector have two major options to choose from namely B. Pharmacy or D. Pharmacy.  The study of pharmacy is one of the oldest and most preferred options for professional for many years.  Pharmacy field is not just limited to medicines, drugs and treatment process, but it covers everything related to wellness from medical care to food and lifestyle to the cosmetics.  It also involves an in-depth study of diseases and their treatments. Many brilliant students aspire to make a career as a pharmacist to contribute the medical field and they can choose from any of the above courses. 

Now, the question is, which course is better? And, to understand this difference, it is important to know what each of these two courses entails.

D. Pharmacy

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) is a 2-year career-oriented diploma program that aims to prepare candidates to work under licensed pharmacists in hospitals or pharmacies etc. During the course, the candidates are trained in accurate and safe processing of prescription, billing, compounding techniques, inventory control, verbal and written communication and more.  Choosing the right institute is must to make a successful career in this field. To get admission in B.Pharmacy course, the candidate must have completed his 10+2 examination in Science stream. Some colleges conduct entrance exams too before admitting students. on the other hand, D.Pharma course, the students can be from any discipline and must have completed their higher education from a recognized board or university.

Which course is better?

Both courses are good and one can consider these as per their qualification and career prospects. D.Pharmacy course offers good career opportunities and focuses on both science and commercialization.  Candidates can even start their career as an entrepreneur after completion of the program. Choosing the right college is important to give wings to your career and check what kind of career opportunities are offered to the students.
