The aspects of Sexual Orientations and Your best Solutions

by Michael Griffin Michael

Love, attraction and sexuality play more or less important roles in the life of each of us. But we usually don't consciously decide who we like or who we fall in love with. It just happens.

Homosexuals, for example, both (lesbian) women and (gay) men, are attracted to people of their own sex. Bisexual individuals, on the other hand, find both men and women fascinating. Asexual people usually don't feel sexual attraction, but they can feel affection or emotional inclination. When people are penalized or humiliated because of their love preferences, it is referred to as discrimination based on sexual orientation. Behind it lies the general assumption that men only fall in love with women and vice versa. Heterosexuality is considered the norm. So How to respond to an EEOC charge of discrimination? This has become a very important question and here we will try to unearth the answer.

The Understanding of Sexual Orientation

Homo and asexual people, however, are not a fashion of our times, but a reality of every age and culture. Defining them as unnatural can strongly influence our behavior and cause multiple discriminatory acts.

·         We can help challenge social preconceptions and personal prejudices, so that everyone can be themselves and love whoever they want.

·         The bill aimed at extending the fight against discrimination also to the sexual sphere is under discussion in the House at the moment.

Boundary consideration

The law intervenes first of all on articles of the penal code. The first punishes with imprisonment up to one year and six months and a fine of 6 thousand euros for those who propagate ideas based on superiority or on racial or ethnic hatred. The same penalty is provided for anyone who instigates or commits discriminatory acts for racial, ethnic, national or religious reasons. The imprisonment has increased from six months to four years for those who instigate or commit violence for racial, ethnic, national or religious reasons, as well as for those who participate in or assist organizations, associations, movements or groups whose aims are the incitement to discrimination or violence for the reasons mentioned above. The most severe penalty, imprisonment from one to six years, is provided for those who promote or manage similar organizations.

In recent years, in Europe, the significant increase in important social phenomena, such as, for example, acts of homophobic bullying, the ban on holding Gay Pride rallies, the declarations of intolerance by some religious leaders, has given rise to a new debate on the spread of homophobia and discrimination against gender identity and sexual orientation.

Conclusion

Indeed, Article of the USA Community Treaty prohibits any discrimination based on sexual orientation and the USA Charter of Fundamental Rights represents the first international human rights charter in which the term "sexual orientation ". However, the social situation in several USA States is still very worrying. In 2007, therefore, the European Parliament invited the new Fundamental Rights Agency to present a comparative and detailed report on homophobia and transphobia in all member States. The resulting picture demonstrated a critical situation for the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual and transgender people.
