Every year comes with new cars filled with updated features, and 2016 is no exception. What may surprise you is that the Acura RLX is one of Torque News' top car choices for the new year. Regardless of whether you are on the beaches of California or the in the mountains of Utah, the 2017 RLX has something for everyone.

You might be thinking that because the Acura RLX was selected as one of the best cars of the new year it is going to have sky-high costs, but the price tag for the base model is only $54,000—only a slight bump from last years' model. However, don't let the near-stagnant price tag fool you. The 2017 RLX is loaded with new features.

Two of this year’s sub-models come equipped with hybrid technology. By harnessing power from this hybrid system, the RLX has a horsepower rating of 377 hp, making it fun at the race track but also strong enough for the canyons of Utah. And while you might think that with all of those horses under the hood there has been a sacrifice in fuel economy, you couldn’t be more wrong. Acura's engineers have achieved a lot of power while still giving you 28 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

And how does the RLX check out when it comes to technology? Well, you're in luck. This year’s RLX not only has GPS, but it also enables you to send route information to your car’s computer from your phone or home computer. Additionally, it is equipped with voice command for hands-free control of your car’s features.

When it comes to driving cars, there are always many hazards to take into consideration. The 2017 RLX aims to give drivers their best chance for safety in Utah or anywhere. A variety of sensors enable the RLX to warn the you about unintentional lane road departures, but it can also warn you about potential accidents from the side, front and rear. In some cases, it will even assist in applying the brakes to prevent an accident.

Clearly, whether you live in rural Utah or the big cities of the East Coast, making the RLX your new car would be a great resolution for just about anyone. When it comes to buying luxury cars, you can’t do better than an Acura. Check one out at your local dealer today.
