Texas health insurance faces major changes with upcoming healthcare legislation.

According to Yahoo Finance the upcoming legislation is rumored to be the biggest health expansion since the Affordable Care Act. Just a few of the progressive policy changes include expanding Medicare coverage to include dental, vision, and hearing. Medicaid could also see new life in states that haven’t done so under the ACA, which would provide coverage to 2.2 million more adults. Lawmakers are also interested in lowering prescription drug prices and avoiding a reduction in Medicare eligibility age. These are obviously big changes and could impact Americans who don’t yet have health insurance in Texas, according to the report above. The Washington Post’s Rachel Roubon was quoted in the article saying, under a leading option people would get free coverage on Obamacare’s marketplaces for several years, giving time for federal officials to create a new Medicaid-like program providing more robust benefits.”
