It seems like yesterday when you got assigned a term paper to submit within ten weeks. Ten weeks seems like plenty of time back then, right? Nine weeks into the term, you realize there’s less than a week to go until submission day. So, what do you do? You frantically begin looking for term paper help online. However, you could have saved those extra bucks to go for a road trip at the end of the term had you planned the paper well.

If you are not a certified genius like Sheldon Cooper, the chances are that you would need a proper plan to proceed before writing even one sentence for your paper. Even the people who claim to have no plan usually have one; it is inside their heads. But if you are not too confident about that, write down your ideas so that you do not miss anything out.

Read on to know all about the things you must keep in mind before beginning to write the term paper.

Here is a ten-week plan that you can follow for your next term paper.

· Selecting a topic – two weeks

Picking a topic is harder than it seems. Since this stage includes preliminary reading, it is safe to say that you will need the first two weeks to select a suitable topic for your paper.

· Conducting background study – three weeks

Taking notes, reading previous research, finding and evaluating external sources you can quote in your paper comes next. Devote at least three weeks for this stage.

· Formulating hypothesis or creating research statement – three days

Coming up with a topic sentence or research question for your paper is the next stage. In this stage, you will need to narrow down the topic according to your chosen slant for the paper.

· Prepping the paper – four days

Take four days for structuring the paper and outlining key subtopics that you choose to include.

· Writing the first draft – three weeks

Keep all the resources handy when writing the first draft. You can use tools like EverNote to keep all the research and findings in one place for quick references.

· Writing final draft – four days

Develop the first draft into what you want your term paper to ideally be. Flesh out the arguments and back them up with suitable examples.

· Revising and polishing the paper – three days

Finally, take some time to revise and edit your paper to perfection before you turn it in.

Make sure you stick to the schedule, and you will be able to come up with an impressive term paper in no time at all. Good luck with the upcoming term papers!
