Ten DotA 2 tips and tricks

Now that the official release of Dota 2 has just been announced, the goal is to aim for the heights and since DotA 2 is a rather complex, deep and difficult game to handle. Even after tens or even hundreds of hours of play, we still find little practical tips and we say to ourselves: what the hell did I do to get by? 1 - Easily lose focus from laps

When attacked by a tower, we see a lot of players retreat until they are out of range so as not to be hit again. Now there is a much faster way to lose the focus of the towers: just use the attack command (the same one you use for deny) on one of your creeps or an allied hero (even if they have enough HP not to be deny). You will then miraculously see the tower attack another target without having to move.

2 -Double-click on an item or a spell

Warning: everything that follows in this part is only valid if you have activated "double click to use on oneself" (in English "double tap ability self cast") in the options, which we recommend.

An extremely quick way to activate spells or items that can be used on your own hero is to double-click the icon (or double-tap the keyboard/mouse shortcut).

3 - The regeneration items can be shared

It is well known that most objects are not shareable: giving your jungler a Stout Shield will only serve to decorate its inventory. However, consumables can be exchanged, such as tangos, salvos, wards or bottles (unless they contain a rune) as well as Gem of True Sight.

4 - Activate mail remotely

A situation that happens too often in the public part: the start of your lane goes well, you buy an item and you want to bring it back quietly and there unfortunately no mail.

To be able to activate a mail, you unfortunately have to have it in your inventory. However, whoever buys it does not need to return to the base. Indeed from your inventory you can drop it at the remote fountain and wait for your next ally who will pass by who will pick it up and activate it.

5 - Easy access to secret shops

It is sometimes risky to venture to secret shops, especially the one located in the opposite camp. However, there are two roundabout ways to access it more easily.

The secret shop on the Dire side can be used from Roshan's nest. If you don't attack it, it won't do anything to you. Be careful however, the entrance to this place is often watched!

6 - Some items can be disassembled

Most of the objects in DotA 2 are made up of an assembly of other objects. Most of the time, the transformation is irrevocable, but in certain specific cases it is possible to disassemble items to recover the components. Just do a right click on the item to do it.

7 - Do not neglect the side-shops

Side-shops are often used at the start of the game to buy fairly basic items such as Boots of Speed ​​or Town Portal Scrolls. However, he offers relatively powerful objects that it would be a shame to overlook.

8 - Several recipes for Power Treads

The game offers the following recipe for making Power Treads: Boots of Speed ​​combined with Gloves of Haste and a Belt of Strengh. By default, the Power Treads thus formed will be in force mode. However, it is possible to do them by replacing the Belt of Strengh either by a Band of Elvenskin (in this case they will be by default in agility) or by a Robe of the Magi (in intelligence in this case).

9 - Spend your money before you die

An effective way not to lose money when you die is not to have it! For this, if you are almost sure to die, do not hesitate to buy as much as possible before passing the weapon to the left. It can be consumables like TP or wards. You can also use the quick-buy system at the bottom left of the screen to buy components for your next item at the last second.

10 - A TP against life

Most beginners do not necessarily have the reflex of trying to teleport to the base with a TP (using the double-click of tip 2!) In case of gank. By doing well you will be able to get by before the enemy heroes have killed you. You can even hide behind trees to save a little time needed for teleportation.
