Music marketing is a something any talented musician is going to have to learn one day or another. While one can be the best artist this side of the world, one needs to be marketed well in order to receive a good amount of attention and possible fame. There are several ways to market music in today’s industry, and with the advancement of social media, but there is no substitute for experience. Ted Joseph is an expert in the field of music marketing, and has worked with many of the major record labels as well as the independent artists. Industry leaders trust Ted for his expertise in the field and look to him for guidance. There are also certain ways that the current industry leaders choose to market their artists to the general public. The different avenues the industry has taken has lead to multiple kinds of music marketing.

There was a time when marketing one’s music was something done on the streets of New York or Los Angeles, but no more. The world of today is the world of technology, and it has had as much impact on the music world as it has had on the rest. One way people have chosen to make their music heard has been through social video sharing websites. People post videos of themselves performing their talent for the entire world to see. Then a record company decides to capitalize on new talent.

Alas, there are new players in this game. Social music streaming sites, programs, and services have recently become a very popular means of listening to music. The major players in the music industry of today market their own artists within the ads on these sites. It is not uncommon for you to see a few advertised options of music whilst selecting your choice. Concerts are also a very popular way to market new artists, and it has never been uncommon for artists to preform together in an effort to raise the newer artists stature. The radio has become a less popular, although by far not unused source of musical media. Public radio still uses advertising to support itself, while most other music sources have switched to being subscription based. Even the satellite radios of today are based upon an advertising-less subscription packages. People would rather pay money than be constantly bombarded by advertisements, regardless of the musical nature of the ads.
