Tea Time, a boutique tea company based in Australia, reiterated the many health benefits of drinking tea in light of new research supporting claims that tea is one of the healthiest beverages available to man.

“Tea has been proven in many clinical tests to have numerous health benefits, from promoting weight loss, reducing stress, fighting cancer, and improving mood. Latest researches conducted by scientists around the world have also shown that tea has even more benefits than we originally thought,” the company said in a statement.

It cited a recent study published on the Public Health Nutrition journal that says one to two cups of tea a day can improve brain power and sporting performance of children.

Dietician Dr. Carrie Ruxton who took part in the said study was quoted as saying that a number of trials have proven that children who were given a small amount of caffeine score more on tests that measure their mental agility, attention, memory, and dexterity.  One study even showed that caffeine boosted the average power of boys from ages of 8-10 years old when they were asked to use exercise bikes.

Other recent studies have also shown that green tea can fight off depression, lower risks of heart disease, and even prevent teeth from decaying prematurely.

The company sells four tea variations—skinny tea for weight loss, sleepy tea for stress and anxiety, detox tea for improving immune system, and complexion tea for good overall skin health.
