Tax Exemption in India-Akshaya Patra

Akshaya Patra is an implementing partner of the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. It is registered as a not-for-profit organisation under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, enabling the Foundation to seek donations under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

As per the revised tax exemption act, effective 1 April 2017, all your donations of above Rs. 500 to Akshaya Patra is eligible for 50% tax exemption under Section 80G of Income Tax Act. Once you make your donation to Akshaya Patra, tax certificate will be generated within six days from the date of contribution made through online donations; and including the postal duration it will take 10 days for the exemption certificate to reach you.
