According to 2013 studies, sugar in the intestine causes the formation of GIP hormone which is controlled by a β-catenin protein. This protein completely dependents on the sugar level that increases insulin released by the pancreas. Most of the researchers found that this β-catenin can also affect the susceptibility to cancer formation. In further studies have found that there is no connection between starch intake, high sugar and survival rates in both colon cancer patients and breast cancer patients.
