wardrobe spring summer ready. Here are my top 10 style trends and must have items:

1 Prints are everywhere and bold stripes; gingham and polka dots are leaving their mark on the new season in a big way. Style tip 101, try wear vertical stripes as horizontal will make you like shorter and wider.

Floral prints for spring are nothing new, this season they are big, abstract and boldy feminine.

2 Get ready to shimmy and shake, fringing is here – on tops, skirts, bags and shoes. The bag style of the moment is the cross body bag.

Kill two birds with one stone. Country Road has a cute suede, cross body fringed bag for $149.

3 The trend is not ground-breaking but black and white is everywhere. To make it look interesting, experiment with textures, patterns and silhouettes.

The really adventurous may want to try a print clash or throw in some leather, another strong trend for spring.

4 Matching two-piece sets - tops with a matching skirt or pant are having a real fashion moment. The trouser suit is back minus the power shoulder pads, but the trouser is cropped in length. I predict the leading fashionistas will embrace this trend trackside for the spring races.

5Khaki green is going to be a really big colour this season. We saw it at a number of fashion

houses, such as Marc Jacobs and Chanel. Now this safari style is available from all the local fashion brands and online. Shirtdresses are also another big trend, so perhaps look for a khaki skirt dress, online fashion retailer Next.com.au has a really cute one for $65.

6 There is a very strong 70’s vibe, with flares, long light flowy dresses, denim dresses and paisley prints. Time to channel your inner Bohemian, think Talitha Getty. Suede is back, trench coats and a-line skirts will be popular items.

7Jumpsuits – This season the jumpsuit has a utilitarian feel, styled with pockets, zips and

drawstring details. Best worn belted to give you shape and accesorised with heels.

8Forget the LBD (little black dress), this season it’s all about the Little Lace Dress. Especially in white or black lace, styles reminiscent of Romantic heroines. Crafted from ethereal delicate white lace, intricately worked fabric with bare skin or a layer of flesh-toned fabric lining underneath.

9Thank the fashion gods, comfortable shoes are here to stay. Whether you prefer a trendy sneaker, two strap sandals, ballet flats or brogues. Of course there is a time and a place for this flat trend phenomena.Read more at:plus size prom dresses
