Summer Events Ideas - Corporate, Family and Friends

by Chris Ingallina Corporate Caterers

With summer in full swing, there is no better time to spend with your family and friends.  Summer picnics, day at the beach and family trips to Grandmas fill up any extra time.  It seems there is never enough time forthe numerous summer activities we look forward to all winter.

There is one thing that most of our summer activities have in common:  Food.  We spend hours each week planning, prepping and cooking meals for our family.  But if planned correctly, more of this time can be spent out of the kitchen, and with our loved ones.

Summer Barbecues are a popular get together for friends, families, and neighbors.  Nothing beats a freshly barbecued steak or burger!  But time and money can be saved by purchasing many of the side dishes from a caterer.  A fruit or vegetable platter from a caterer can be less expensive than buying each food item separate and cutting yourself.  Gourmet salad bowls are another item that is not only easily ordered, but also allows you to try something different and mix it up a bit.

Barbecues aren’t the only Summer gatherings - themed parties are becoming increasingly popular.  Tea parties provide a light breakfast or lunch in an elegant setting. A Dessert party offers delicious flavors with a beautiful presentation.  One of the disadvantages to a themed summer party is the time spent the morning of the party preparing and cooking.  By the time your guests arrive you are exhausted!  Choosing a good caterer frees you up to greet and spend time with your guests.

Summer road trips are another scenario where a caterer can be used to make your trip extra special.  Box lunches tend to be healthier than fast-food options, and making a quick stop at a park or playground can be an inviting change to the hours sat in the car.  And with everything conveniently in one box, cleanup is a breeze.

Family Reunions are another popular summer event.  Providing food for close and distant relatives can be particularly tricky.  Caterers usually have a good variety of foods that are out of the ordinary, and likely to be enjoyed by all.  A good caterer also has a variety of Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free and other dietary restricted meals.  Menus can often be altered to fit just about any need.

Catering companies are often thought to only do high end weddings and events.  But many caterers facilitate corporate meetings and events with reasonable pricing and low minimums.  They often provide food for private events starting at just a hand full of people.  Ingallina’s Box Lunch provides Box Lunches and Party Platters for events for just a few people, and offer free delivery in the Phoenix, Portland, Los Angeles, and Seattle Metro areas

No matter what your Summer plans are, employing the use of a good caterer takes you out of the kitchen and next to your family and friends.  The memories made will last a life time!
