a public postgraduate research center with approximately 4000 students enrolled
in programs leading to degrees in the fields of science, engineering,
technology, and management. More over 50% of the registered students at
Cranfield University are part-time scholars. Over 30s make up more than half of
the student body as a whole.
The majority of UK engineers with master's degrees in
engineering, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency, are Cranfield

History
Cranfield University was established in 1946 as the College
of Aeronautics, and today it is one of the top research and educational
institutions in the UK for postgraduate engineering studies. The Cranfield
Campus was initially constructed on a Royal Air Force facility in Bedfordshire,
England. The institution underwent numerous advancements during the following
two decades with Roxbee Cox (Lord Kings Norton) serving as vice-chair and
chair. It improved aircraft design and research. The institution expanded its
offerings and added a manufacturing faculty along with the Cranfield
institution School of Management.
The Royal Charter and the authority to issue degrees were
given to the College of Aeronautics in 1969. The Cranfield Institute of

The Institute and the National College of Agricultural Engineering amalgamated
to establish Silsoe College during the course of the subsequent nearly 20

Accommodations
For different price ranges, dorm residents can select from a variety of options, including self-catered and catered halls. Apart from flats with shared bathrooms, students can also select rooms with private bathrooms. Family houses and apartments are also available on a short-term basis because more than half of the population is over 30 and already employed in a professional capacity.

Transport
The campus is close to Cranfield Village, Milton Keynes, and
Bedford. By using Uno buses and other bus connections, students can travel
between these places. The mainline railway services will take you to London in
less than 45 minutes.

walking distance. Additionally nearby is Luton Airport. Students can also use
car-hire services like Uber to get about campus in lieu of those other options.
Location
Milton Keynes and Bedford are the closest cities, and it
takes about 40 minutes by train to get to Cranfield University's campus from
central London. The university is ideally close to the London Luton airport,
and trains and coaches make it simple to get to Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted
airports as well.
Train travel to Cranfield Defence and Security from Bristol
and London takes around 25 and 50 minutes, respectively. One hour of driving
will get you to Bath, Cheltenham, Bristol, and Oxford, while less than two
hours will get you to London.
