Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand were not separated, but they were one state. Uttarakhand was hilly part of Uttar Pradesh, and it was separated from Uttar Pradesh in the year 2000. Though it was parted from Uttar Pradesh, but Hindi is the common language of these two states. Therefore, hindi news is quite popular among the residents of these states in India.
