Computer errors are common, and several users report that they face “you don’t have permission to save in this location” failure on their systema. These errors occur on your device when you are working on documents or files like doc. Jpeg, etc. This error also appears on your screen when you contact the administrator to get permission to save a particular file on the device. In this article, we will show you how you can fix this issue.

Give Complete Control to Administrator for Problematic Folder

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Right-tap on the problematic files and then selects “Properties” in the dropdown menu.
  2. Visit the “security” button and then tap on “Edit.”
  3. Click “Administrator” in the dropdown menu and click “Full Control” and then click the “Allow” column.
  4. If “Full control” is already selected, you may have to click another option in the deny column and select “Full control” into the Allow column again.
  5. Now you need to repeat the above steps you have done for the “User” group available in the security tab.

Disable User Account Control

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Tap the Windows + R button on your keyboard and then type “user account” in the search field.
  2. Click “Change user account control” settings.
  3. Now shift the slider of “Never notify” and then tap on the “OK” button to save your changes.

Run the Program as an Administrator

To fix this issue, you need to run the application as an administrator. To do this, here are the steps to follow:

  1. Find the problematic app and then right-tap on it.
  2. Select “Run as Administrator” in the dropdown menu.

  1. Right-tap on the problematic app, then select “Properties” in the dropdown menu.
  2. Move to the “Compatibility” button and select “Run this program as an administrator” button.
  3. Now tap on “OK” and click “Apply” to save your changes.
  4. After the above process, the application will always run with an administrator, and your issue might be permanently fixed.

Turn off Protected Mode Features

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Tap the Windows + R button on your keyboard to launch the Run command prompt.
  2. In the Run command-line type “inetcpl.cpl” and then click “OK” to hit the “Enter” button on your keyboard.
  3. Launch the “Security” button and click the “Enable Protect Mode” button.
