We live in a fast-paced society, and women rarely take the time to pamper themselves. Beauty and skin care is at the bottom of their busy to-do-list (if it makes it to the list at all). Every woman wants to look and feel her best, and the good news is, that a proper skincare regimen can be simple.

Below are a few skin care informational tips, that even the busiest women, will be able to incorporate into their already packed day, without much hassle or inconvenience.

*Keep sunscreen close at hand, as this is not something that should be packed only for a day at the beach. Unprotected skin can be seriously damaged by exposure to the sun. A simple solution, to protection sensitive skin and keep it safe from harmful UV sunrays, is to apply a thick layer of quality sunscreen every time you step outside. It does not matter if the season is winter or summer. Every woman should be doing this religiously. Also, it is wise to check out any skin care reviews of products, to ensure you are making the best selection for your needs.

* Drink a lot’s of water. We are all aware that seventy (70) percent of our body consists of water. This fact alone should be an indicator, as to how important it is to replenish the body. Without being properly hydrated, skin can and will appear dull and lifeless, and wrinkles will be more visible.

*Moisturize. Skin dries very quickly, and moisturizing should be done on a regular basis. The best time to apply lotion to the skin, is right after a shower when your pores are open, and lotion will be more effectively absorbed and sealed into the skin. Body and hand lotion is every girl’s best friend, and a bottle should be kept in your car, handbag and desk drawer, so that you are never without the opportunity to have your skin looking and feeling soft and radiant.

*Lifestyle and diet changes. What you eat has a big impact on how your skin will look. Fresh fruits and vegetables are packed with important vitamins and minerals that promote healthy skin. Avoid highly processed foods that contain little or no nutritional value. In addition to food choices, lifestyle changes will have a huge impact on the appearance of your skin. Proper sleep (eight hours a night) is something that you should aim for, and smoking should be avoided, as the lack of sleep and smoking will have your skin looking lifeless and dull. In addition, physical exercise will add a pinch of color to your cheeks, as well as keep your skin looking and feeling healthy and young.

As mentioned above, there is nothing bad to be said about physical exercise, but sometimes working women will find it hard to get in a full workout on a regular basis. The great thing about facial exercises, are that they can be done virtually anywhere, at any time. They can be done sitting down, and you don’t need a gym membership. Facial exercises are an important part of any women’s beauty routine, because if you stare at a computer screen all day, your eyes will have a tired look. In addition, stress and tension will build up in your facial muscles. Without realizing it, you may begin to grind your teeth, clench your jaw, strain your neck muscles, and slouch your shoulders. This type of quietly built up tension can make your whole body feel stiff, and slow down your ability to move. By following these simple and easy facial exercises, you will relax your facial muscles, improve overall circulation and feel less stress. Your face will feel alive, energized and refreshed.

  1. Sit comfortably and slowly breathe in and out, relaxing your shoulder muscles, as you concentrate on your breathing. Close your eyes, relax your jaw muscles and allow your face muscles to soften. This simple exercise will have your muscles feel less tense.

  2. Simulate chewing gum for a minute (or two).

  3. Scrunch your face by pulling your eye brows down, pursing your lips and drawing your cheeks toward your nose. Hold this for five seconds and repeat several times.

  4. Pinch and squeeze your checks, as this improves the circulation throughout your facial muscles.

  5. Stretch your facial muscles by looking upward, opening your mouth, stretching your tongue and roaring like a lion. This is a fun exercise that you can do until you feel calm, and back in control of your emotions.

  6. Rub your palms together quickly until they feel warm. Close your eyes, breathe deep and place your warmed hands over your eyes. Continue to take long relaxing breathes. Repeat this process.

  7. Gently massage your facial muscles. Place your fingers on your forehead and make small circular movements. Then move your hands down the side of your face, along your cheek bones towards your nose.
