Deciding on whether to use a potty seat or a potty chair for potty training your child can be a tough one. Do your research and consider your child’s preferences to make the right choice.

A potty seat is closer in looks to a standard toilet than a potty chair. So, your kid will get a ‘grown up’ feel when using a potty seat. This motivates them and makes the transition from  diapers to toilet much more easy.

In its basic form, potty seat is a small padded seat that's set on top of a standard toilet. Best potty seats are available in many colors and styles. So you get the advantage of picking one that appeals to your toddler.

The main downside of a potty seat is, since it sits on top of a toilet, your child might find it difficult to access especially if they try to use it on their own. Some kids also fear of falling into the big toilet bowl.

On the other hand, a potty chair is a child sized potty that sits on the ground. So kids find it easy and safe to use. Potty chair is also more stable than a potty seat because of its strong base. One advantage of potty chair is it can be moved to any room in your home for fast access.

The main drawback of a potty chair is, it is much more bulky than a potty seat as it includes a seat, a bowl and a base. So it takes up more space in your bathroom. A potty seat, however, can be placed next to the bathroom wall and you will hardly notice it is there.

Another disadvantage of potty chair is it’s more difficult to clean than a potty seat. You have to remove the potty bowl and clean it up after each use. With a potty seat, cleaning is as easy as pushing the toilet flush button.

Hope this article gave you some tips to make the right decision. Good luck with your potty training.
