Viralsweep Review: Watch Imagine a Contest Can Do to Help Your Website

Recently, I gave some MacBook Air away.

The winner has been chosen by a random drawing on February 1st. The decoration has been valued at $899.

Overall, the competition was interesting and provided some intriguing results that I thought I would share.

The catalyst behind this post's celebrity and the competition is a handy tool called Viralsweep. Get prepared to learn what a contest can do to help your own blog and Viralsweep functions.

Viralsweep Review: How This Widget Helped Run a Contest on My Website

Running a contest is something that you may want to contemplate.

A competition can bring your site results that are positive. Matters like publicity. Brand consciousness. Word-of-Mouth marketing. Signups to your mailings. Those are the results that are standard.

Within our modern online era, a competition more specifically brings in email readers, social media visitors and followers, participation, and positive vibes (that are difficult to measure, but real nonetheless.)

Firms are holding competitions because forever, the reason they are still popular and these reasons listed above are.

You may be thinking,"Matt, I cannot afford to give away a prize like that." No problem. You may discover that a gift card generates some buzz and brings in more results than you predicted.

Oh, you want to know that I spent $156 on Viralsweep. So my cost included 4 months of Viralsweep at $39 per month which puts my total.

Viralsweep comes with a free version you may use, it just does not have as many attributes or monitoring data as the Guru plan (I picked.) There's also a Company plan that's the best, but the majority of you won't have to devote.

So make sure you decide on a plan that's perfect for you and provide.

Besides cost, another objection that might be holding you back is"time and energy " Maintaining a competition sounds like work? Something that will require spent time and attention...What if I told you Viralsweep simplifies the procedure, effectively monitors the participants and helps you get benefits?

Curious now?

Let us take a look.

Opening up a new account with Viralsweep is so easy. No credit card is necessary to get started.

When you're in the dashboard, then you can begin a new contest, track a current one, or review the outcomes of a competition that is completed.

You may see that I have one finished contest.

Before I get into those outcomes, let me return to how I began the competition. (I should have taken some screenshots of the setup, but I did not.) I can tell you Viralsweep gave me an choice to set up.

This is fantastic because giving people methods of entering brings you outcomes.

Less than six entries I thought, although if you prefer, why don't you make the most of this chance can be chosen by you? So to help individuals increase their probability of winning (equivalent to buying 6 raffle tickets as opposed to 1) and get the most out of this event, I put up 6 strategies to enter, that's the max.

Does this provide YOU more results?

Well in my case, 1 way individuals could enter the drawing to get a brand new MacBook Air was to subscribe to my newsletter.

If they wanted, they might also go into five more times by...

The competition was began by me, After I put this in place.

Viralsweep lets you incorporate the competition widget into your blog post (or internet page. However you want to use it.)

This article was published on Dec. 12. It created a great deal of excitement as you may see.

I would have liked to of seen more societal shares...perhaps some folks thought sharing the information would reduce their opportunity to win???

Needless to say, this article was encouraged by me through all of my channels alongside an email blast.

One thing I did not do is spend money on advertising for this particular contest. Rather, I let my very own stations do the work.

1 reason I didn't spend money on advertising this contest is because there is a fantastic possibility that it might attract some (or many) individuals who are under the ordinary target market of BYOB. To put it differently, individuals could be attracted by a contest like this not really interested in your specialty, your product or services. Once it is over they might just want to go into the competition and will not stick around.

I think that happens on some level with any business competition. Not sure you can stop that. But I thought perhaps avoiding things such as"sponsored articles" on Facebook would cut down on the under average traffic.

Plus I thought I would wait to see what the results were before making money on promotions on the very first competition of the scale.

I promoted this post through the BYOB SM stations over the subsequent 6 weeks.

Viralsweep let's you change the deadline. Intending to end at midnight New Year's Day, I chose to allow it to go till the end of January.

Another thing that I did was made certain not more promote this competition on any of the channels. Twitter is where you are able to post the same things multiple times rather than embarrass people, as long as you space them out. This did result in a good conversation and counts.

(This also gives you a good idea of the possible Twitter stocks a competition can deliver. These aren't all them.)

Alright, so now let's look at the benefits this contest provided...

Viralsweep Review: The Contest Results At-a-Glance

These are the levels of every competition entry point.

Each category'll break down and give a standard to them:

Email Clients

The sign ups because of my newsletter were fine but in comparison from the competition, as well as the total readers I had, the 395 obtained more than 6 weeks wasn't a substantial increase. My subscription rates were powerful and continue to be steady today.

YouTube Subscribers

This class was the best of all. The total subscriber count doubled, by adding subscribers to my YouTube station.

You may see on this chart, I picked on up 164 readers.

Despite the tendency of a competition subscriber to be significantly less engaged than the"organic" consumers, the uplift in YouTube contributors generated direct and possibly indirect increase in channel perspectives and video view time.

Grade: A+

Twitter Followers

Another good yield. I picked up more than a third Twitter followers.
Grade: B

Pinterest Followers

My channel is still a kid, so it was great to pick up 277 followers. That's almost half of the present total followers. I am still learning Pinterest, so now it's tough to say exactly how many of these people are currently repining my stuff or visiting my site.

Comments on BYOB

This entrance into the drawing supplied a lot of involvement on the competition blog article. Aside from the competition post, I don't believe the Viralsweep contest produced a lot of comments. Long term, the competition didn't produce a great deal of regular commenters, although I know there were a little sum, which is fine. Not surprising, really. They naturally are excited to remark on the MacBook Air contest article, although a smaller percent are not as likely to comment on a topic.
Grade: C

Followers on Instagram

I am grateful for being able to double my followers. The reason why this result will not get a grade that is higher is because I don't utilize IG greatly to drive traffic to BYOB. I have still got a lot to understand, and possibly those followers will continue to participate and visit the website once I discuss BYOB articles on IG, and perhaps a couple will convert there or here. Time will tell.
Grade: B

Viralsweep Review: Competition Conclusions

In my view , the MacBook Air drawing was a effort that helped its consumer base increases in Twitter Pinterest and YouTube's smaller media platforms, with YT benefitting the many.

The email list growth has been unspectacular (relative to normal BYOB results)

Future ads will be helped with by the spike at YouTube subscribers I choose to run over there, resulting in a sustained YT channel.

Not sure I will do a second contest such as this anytime soon, but I do think Viralsweep might be very valuable for promoting potential projects like Course or an eBook.
