The railway board building got its name in 1923 when it housed railway board.

BANTONY CASTLE

Bantony castle was the summer palace of the former king of Sirmaur, which was later lent to Britishers who utilized the space for military purpose. However, since 1957 after independence, this building was being used as police headquarters till a few years ago. Recently, the state government had announced to turn Bantony castle near the mall into a heritage site and let it serve Shimla heritage tourism.

RASHTRAPATI NIWAS

Also known as Viceregal Lodge, Rashtrapati Niwas had been the residence of the viceroy of the British empire. Tourists here, feel elated on encountering the most ancient articles and photographs reflecting British era. This heritage site was also designed by Henry Irwin and constructed in Jacobethan style, hence enticed the souls of those with architectural interest.
