“Shape Memory” opens At Centro Arti Plastiche by Jorge Romeo and Stevens Vaughn

Italy (April 08, 2016) - Centro Arti Plastiche and the Hafnia
Foundation come together for the “Shape Memory” exhibit this March
featuring works by Jorge Romeo and Stevens Vaughn, curated by Massimo
Scaringella. The exhibit will open Friday March 18, 2016 at 6pm at the
Centro Arti Plastiche Via Canal Del Rio.

will be featured in the upcoming “Shape Memory” exhibit curated by
Massimo Scaringella. Shapes Memory will open Friday March 18 at 6pm. The
Centro Arti Plastiche and Hafnia Foundation will present the show from
March 18 to April 17, 2016 at the Centro Arti Plastiche Via Canal Del
Rio in Carrara. The exhibit is the beginning of joint work from the
Centro Arti Plastiche and Villa Bertelli, representing Carrara and
Versilia.
Jorge Romeo, born 1949 in Buenos Aires Argentina, is a
sculptor participating in the “Shape Memory” exhibit. Romeo has been
featured in personal exhibits regularly for the past three decades, his
most recent exhibit “Cariddi” appeared in 2014. The artist left
Argentina and his studies in Chemistry to commit himself to sculpture.
After moving from Argentina in the 80's he now works from a studio in
Carrara. Romeo's portfolio contains mixed media sculptures in a broad
range of size and subject matter.
Stevens Vaughn, an America born
in Minnesota 1958, will be part of the “Shape Memory” along with Jorge
Romeo. Vaughn has previously worked in the US Peace Corps and has
created a variety of art around the world since 1982. His work in Japan
and training there led him to open studios around the world. Vaughn has
participated in many solo exhibitions in the past two years in Italy,
Chile, and China. The artist participated in a group exhibit in
Messina, Italy earlier this year. Also in Italy, Vaughn produced
“Distorted” and “Water is a color” as permanent exhibits in different
parts of Rome.
The “Shape Memory” exhibit featuring Romeo and
Vaughn will be open from March 18 to April 17 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays
and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and Fridays, Saturdays and
Sundays from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
The new cooperation of the
Centro Arti Plastiche and Villa Bertelli will allow future exchanges of
exhibits and contact between the two communities.
About the Hafnia Foundation
Founded
in 2000, the Hafnia Foundation is committed to collecting and
preserving art from around the globe, with the objective of exploring
cultural diversity in artistic expression. The art currently in their
collection represents artists from America, China, Cyprus, Denmark,
Iceland, the Netherlands, and Norway. It is composed of sculptures,
paintings, and installations, both realistic and abstract, as well as an
extensive collection of historical Chinese propaganda posters.
