Shannie Ross on what makes her tick

Shannie talks about her passions as her new single Try is released

Try is slowly going to take over the airwaves. Shannie Ross has released her new single call try and it has all the makings of a huge hit. We were really impressed by Shannie’s music and decided that we should get a deeper look into who Shannie is.  The surprising thing is that Shannie has been singing for more than 10 years now. Even more surprising is the fact that Shannie is only 16. We would have never been able to tell that Try was sung by a 16-year-old. It has none of the immaturity that one usually finds in songs from young artists. Shannie knows this and said it was because of her love of old music as well as the long time that she has spent practicing.

Shannie grew up listening to old music. Thus, ever since she was a little kid, she has wanted to sing and more importantly she has wanted to sing the way singers in old songs did. The drive to achieve the excellence level of old singers is clearly present in Try and the other songs which Shannie has put out. Shannie talks a lot about the old music and some of the new music which inspires her. Adele has been an inspiration for a long time and Shannie even met Adele when she was 4! Shannie says that music is her passion and that she is trying to get people to connect with her music. That is what, according to her, is what an artist should inspire to. If she can have a lot of people relating to what she is singing about she will know that she was successful. Shannie has performed in many different venues many different times and she has killed it every time. You can easily see these performances yourself over YouTube if you want to. You’ll be surprised to see her signing professionally back when she was 14 or 15. She always has been just that good.

According to Shannie, the reason she is able to sing the way she does is because she lets her emotions guide her. She is against soulless music and believes that music can only make an impact if it comes from the heart. Shannie seems to be mature beyond her years; there aren’t many classic sounding 16 year olds in the music industry right now and Shannie is going to be a breath of fresh air. Her new single Try is already different from anything else you will listen to on the radio and so is her image. If you want more you can also listen to her older songs on her website.
