Similar to the concept of searching on the web, you can locate and find commands in the Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking Command Browser through its Keyword Filter Feature.

Using the Keyword Filter, you can easily search for the exact command for a function you’d like to perform during dictation or executing any task within Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

For an instance, let’s assume you want to find a footnote in your Microsoft Word Document. So, what should be the first word to command Dragon to do so for you?

Is it “Find Footnote”?

Let’s get the right command for you using the Keyword Filter in Dragon NaturallySpeaking Command Browser!

When you will explore in the Keyword Filter, you would find that exact command for the action, and that would be “Open the Footnote”. So, the Dragon won’t work on “Find Footnote”, but on “Open the Footnote” command.

Now you know how important it is to type that exact phrase in the Dialog Box to find exactly what you are looking for. However, you can always use the Dragon Sidebar to find commands.

How to Use the Keyword Filter to Locate Commands?

Please follow the below steps to find the commands in Keyword Filter of Nuance Dragon’s Command Browser.

Step 1 – Open the DragonBar, go to the Tools and Choose Command Browser.

Step 2 – You’ll see a content box at the upper left corner of the screen. Please make sure you are in the same application for which you want to find the command.

Step 3 – If not, you can use the drop-down list to pick the application.

Step 4 – Here, you have to choose the ‘Keyword Filter’ option given next to the Context box.

Step 5 – As soon as you click on the option, the Keyword Filter box pops up on the screen with the list of words along the left side.

Step 6 – Here, in the search box, you can type the words that include the command you are looking for.

As above, we took the example of Footnote, you can type Footnote into the Choose Word dialog box.

Step 7 – Once you’re done with typing the words, click on the‘Add’ button so that the word can be placed on the right side under the current list of filter words.

Step 8 – At last, click ‘Done’.

Now, in the command browser, you will see all the commands that consist the word ‘footnote’. You can pick the relevant one and get your work done.
