Scrub the Dirt Away

So, what makes your Monday special? I bet nothing and if you are bored like me and had whipped something up that turned out super awesome them am sure you have found a cure to your Monday blues. This one amazing stuff that I managed to whip up on a glorious Monday morning was nothing new. It was just something I was intimidated to make - a sugar scrub. And you may think why I would want to make a sugar scrub. Well, the answer lies in the need to using natural products to exfoliate facial skin leading to avoiding excess usage of chemical-laden fairness scrubs.

Ever since I managed to concoct a lemon sugar scrub, I've been craving to finally try it out since it was my very first home version facial scrub. Lemon also helps to lighten the skin making it fairer and hence, is an essential ingredient in most skin fairness products. Now, with the knowledge that there are better ingredients available for purchase from store, there is no better option but to use a home-made scrub that is both natural and effective and I don't think it's a bad idea at all.

When you are blessed with oily skin, which is good as it delays wrinkles and fine lines formation, fighting the cons that comes with it to the likes of excess oil secretion and acne formation is like fighting fire with a bit of fire. If you have oily skin and are able to keep your skin hydrated then oil production is stunted. This happens when your skin send signals that it is already well hydrated and hence does not require further hydration.

The signal triggers less oil production which leads to less acne formation and skin concerns. This little lemon sugar scrub concoction also feels really hydrating on the skin and works extremely well for oily to combination skin types. After application of this scrub, I loved the way my skin felt and especially with the warmth of a good shower. This feeling can be synonymous with a small spa treatment that only improves your skin, though you need to ensure that you shouldn't use it to exfoliate your skin daily.

For long, I have felt my skin really dehydrated and I have myself to blame for it as I wasn’t giving it enough water. My lips began to peel quite often and remained chapped and hence, the first line of defence was obviously to drink more water and to use a medicated chap-stick during the day. However, this means that besides exfoliating the skin, keeping it hydrated internally is one of the key factors that contribute to a radiant and blemish-free complexion.
