SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test that is extensively used for college admissions in the United States. It is a standardized test that was introduced way back in 1926. The name and scoring, however, was altered several times. It is owned, developed and published by the College Board, a non-profit organization of the United States. This test measures the reading, mathematical, and writing skills of the students, who are aspiring to go for their undergraduate studies abroad. It assesses the potential of the applicants for their advanced studies. The examination is a paper-based test and the test is scored on a maximum of 1600. About SAT
The test of SAT is administered by the Educational Testing Service on the behalf of the College Board. The test is designed to assess the readiness of the students for college. According to the new SAT test and structure, it includes mathematics section which is of 80 minutes having 58 questions. Then, the reading test that is 65 minutes having 52 questions. And, finally, the writing and language test which is of 35 minutes having 44 questions. The mathematics section includes application-based trigonometry, building equations, etc. The reading test includes multiple meaning words, complex structure vocab, reading comprehension, etc. And, writing & language test includes an essay. The SAT test score ranges from 400-1600. And, each section has a different score. The mathematics section is scored on the scale of 200- 800, the reading section is scored on a scale of 200- 800, and the essay is scored on a scale of 2-8.

Tips For SAT
Usually, the ideal time to take the SAT test for the first time is in winter of the student’s junior year. Most of the material has been covered in school, but you can still practice and revise it again. Also, you can join the coaching classes for clearing the SAT test with excellent scores. Basically, for what score you should shoot depends on where you want to apply. If you decide to prepare on your own, then make sure that you get the best books. The three major aspects to take into consideration are studying the content, learning the logic of the test, and practicing the questions. These will help you in getting through the test easily.
