SAFETY GOGGLES

Have you ever imagined a life without eyesight? Eyes are the most precious possession and you must take good care of it. These are the most sensitive part of the body which can be easily wrecked or damaged if not taken proper care of. One has to make sure that they must protect their eyes at any cost. One of the most effective ways to shield our vision is safety goggles. 

 

Safety goggle is a kind of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is put on the eye for protection and prevents harmful suspended particulates, chemicals, airborne dust, dirt, etc. It acts as a protective shield for our eyes. Polycarbonate is the widely used lens material for safety goggles. These were first created by Garrett Morgan in the year 1914 after he received an eye protector patent in the year 1880. He was an African American.

 

Lenses made of polycarbonate are more resistant than glass lenses and do not break easily. This component makes the eyewear more comfortable and convenient to wear because it is less than half the weight of glass. There are different types of safety goggles such as Direct Vented goggles, Indirect Vented goggles, Non-Vented goggles. There are lots of eye hazard episodes happening each year.  

 

Mostly the hazardous things happen in the workplace, so the workers should be extra careful. 

 

     You must wear the safety goggles with side shields if you are working in an environment that has particles, dust, flying particles such as bits of metals, glass, tools, blood-borne pathogens.

     If you are dealing with chemicals, safety goggles are a must. 

     You must wear safety goggles, face shields, etc when you are working near welding, lasers, fiber optics, etc since these radiations are harmful. 

     If you are dealing with high-velocity debris and blunt crash. 

 

Obviously, it will neither match your style nor give you the best fashion impression. But it will ensure complete protection from all types of potential peril or threat. Hence, you must wear these when dealing with dangerous stuff. One negligence can even cost your life. Some people are unfortunate not to have a vision, you should be lucky you are gifted with this priceless set of pair. You should not hesitate to help people with no vision, treat them with empathy and love.
