School chaplains have proven to be a huge source of hope, inspiration, and comfort in schools across the US and worldwide.

Following the passing of the Chaplain Bill this June in the State of Texas, your public or private school can now welcome a school chaplain into your school community. Most chaplains who study with and are certified by the National School Chaplain Association are former teachers or have substantial ministry experience, including working as a chaplain in another context like healthcare. Upon completion of their studies with the NSCA, they will have developed a strong skill set that will allow them to provide spiritual guidance to your students as well as broader psychosocial support. 

When a full-time chaplain is installed in your school, their main goal will be to create a safe and confidential space in which your students can be themselves and express their fears, doubts, anxieties, concerns, and more. As the National School Chaplain Association explained, school chaplains are not intended to replace any existing welfare services you may have but rather to work in harmony with them, and to grow a culture of communication, openness, and trust.
