Russia Hoax: No Evidence of Russian Collusion
Russia hoaxes are a type of misinformation designed to create the impression there is an association between Russia and some international incidents. The goal is to discredit Russia by associating it with negative incidents, even if Russia had nothing to do with them.
The latest Russia hoax has been about Russian collusion in the U.S. Presidential election. This false accusation has no evidence supporting it yet continues to repeat as a fact in mainstream media outlets like CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times and Washington Post. What's worse, this baseless allegation was used as grounds for attacking the President on national television!
What is the Russia Hoax, and what does it say about American politics today?
Russia Hoax is a term that was coined to describe the investigations into Russia's intrusion in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election and whatever possible links between Russia and Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
Looking at both sides of this story, it seems there is no evidence of collusion with Russia on behalf of Donald Trump or his campaign team. At the same time, Democrats have been heavily invested in these allegations for over two years now.
The idea behind Russia Hoax can sum up as: if what you're looking for isn't found, then conclude that it must not exist; furthermore, American intelligence agencies seem to agree that Russia did interfere with undermining our democracy, but they don't believe Russia had any intention of influencing an outcome (as Russia puts it, they were just "sowing chaos").
How did this hoax originate, and why do people believe it's true?
Russia's meddling in the 2016 election was first alleged on October 31, 2017, by a team of researchers from both houses of Congress. On December 13, President Obama imposed sanctions to punish Russia for its interference and show solidarity with those targeted by Russia during the campaign. The accusations were denied at that time by Vladimir Putin, who called them "a bunch of nonsense."
But what is this supposed collusion? It looks like it ought to do with Wikileaks releasing Hillary Clinton's emails, but does Russia have any connection there? No! This story about 'collusion' originated due to Democrats being embarrassed after Donald Trump won because they forgot how elections work.
Conclusion
The Russia Hoax is the most remarkable example of a conspiracy theory in modern history. There has been no evidence or proof that Russians colluded with President Trump to steal an election, and as we approach closer to 2020, this will be more apparent than ever before.
