Varrock offers the arts (the Museum) and shopping ("The Grand Exchange"). But once you've left the main street, it is a neighborhood. Nyet. Lumbridge is nice looking but it is not as nice as the goblin camps that are nearby. Falador is gorgeous and well-maintained. Being walled in and well guarded gives you a sense of safety (maybe an illusion of security? ) Also. But if you're not, there's really not much happening there. While there's an area for parties, I haven't been to any .... parties there.

Edgeville offers a mix of small-town life and big-city excitement. The hamlet is quiet during the week however on weekends, it's as crowded as Times Square on New Year's Eve. Take a picnic basket, and sit down on the hill to watch the PvPers fight the battle just outside of Wilderness Wall. You are secure as long you're on the "civilized side" isn't in danger.
