Rugs - The Perfect Solution to a Beautiful Home

The idea of shifting to a new house is capable of sending shivers down the spine. Well, not everyone goes through the same. As soon as my husband and I decided to shift to our new place after months of interior designing and choosing each and every detail with utmost thought and care, my friends started to get me worked up by being all paranoid about the pending work and buying new things for the house, matching the décor with the furnishings and what not! But I wasn’t one of them. I did my prior research by jotting down the list of items I needed to buy. During my frequent visits to the house when it was under construction, I planned everything well in advance.
 
Finally, I move to the place of my dreams – our home sweet home. I ensured that the appliances including TV, fridge, washing machine, induction cooktop, microwave oven, air conditioner and refrigerator are placed exactly where I intended to keep them. Within few days of shifting and settling down, I thought I did a commendable job. But something was always amiss as I started into my living room and bedroom. I decided to consider few things before buying one:
 
Size – Whether you want one for your bedroom, guest room or living room, choosing the right size makes all the difference. Make sure that the rug is neither too big nor too small for your home. Read the measurements carefully before laying your hands on one.

Pattern – Be it a traditional or a modern rug, select one that glorifies your place effortlessly. Ensure that you feel comfortable and at peace when you lay your feet on it. You can go for classic rectangular rugs or contemporary shaped ones to add that chic touch to your home.

 Material – GO for a material that feels comfortable and soft and doesn’t attract much dirt. Choose one that can be easily cleaned with the help of a vacuum cleaner.

Colour – When choosing the colour, go for something that would blend with your surrounding furnishings. If you wish to add a dose of contrast, go for a bright and peppy colour. If you want to keep it simple and subtle, go for a neutral colour.
