Royal Enfield Himalayan – is it Worth it?

by Royal Enfield King Royal Enfield King

From a “rarely seen” motorbike, Royal Enfield is now perhaps the “most seen” bike on the tracks. With all the recent modifications to the look and engine, RE is now an everybody’s favorite motorcycle. One of the most recent entries in the list is the RE Himalayan. With very minimalistic and basic styling, Enfield Himalayan has the conventional dirt motorbike look, a small windscreen, a beak kind front mudguard, and a single round headlight. It borrows simply nothing from the old bullet look.

A look into Enfield Himalayan:

Overall Himalayan it is a comfortable bike; however, the best part about the bike is its Chassis. The whole construction of the motorcycle is pretty agile and compact, something that an off-roading beginner would look forward to. While riding on the dirt paths, you can stand comfortably on the foot pegs and also hold the tank when negotiating the potholes, sand, and gravel. It has enough space and multiple mounting points for putting up the luggage you would require for a trip. In addition, you can clip on saddle bags and fuel jerry cans easily.

Should you buy it or not?

The big question of should you purchase an Enfield Himalayan? Honestly, if you ride 150 CC motorbikes like FZ or Pulsar, then, by all means, you can go for Himalayan. With all the muscles and features it gives, it is worth every single penny. You can consider it as old wine in a brand-new bottle. It gives everything that Bullet is popular for but with a new appearance. There is absolutely no denying that it is an impressive bike with no competition in the Indian market.

Final thoughts:

Our final verdict will be that RE Himalayan is worth your money if occasion off-roading or frequent tours to the hills is what you are seeking. It would work really very well within the city at the same time, for daily commute; however, the overall look of the bike will make it look like it is not intended to be there. In case you are an existing Royal Enfield user, have the classic or standard bullet, and you are thinking of replacing it with Enfield Himalayan, it would be a bad deal. However, it would be a nice addition to your garage in case you want to get another Enfield.

But you can upgrade the look and performance of this bike by purchasing custom accessories and spare parts. So, take your time and think about it.
