Royal Enfield Anticipated to Increase Rates of Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650

The Royal Enfield 650 Twins, Continent GT and Interceptor 650, have already been setting the Indian market on fire since their introduction. The Continental GT and the Interceptor 650 have immediately popular among the Indian audience, not only due to the heritage that comes up with the Royal Enfield, the oldest motorcycle brand in the world but due to the extremely aggressive pricing.

Both the motorbikes are driving sales chart at a rapid pace and the waiting period for these two motorcycles range between four to five months, based on the variant you are searching for. The RE 650 twins were introduced in the month of November last year. Both the motorbike got the aficionados drooling since they are one of the most affordable motorbikes.

There is buzz out these days that the Royal Enfield might be increasing rates for both Twins 650. This should not come as a surprise seeing the popularity of these two bikes. For the update, there are still three variants of the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650, namely, Chrome, Custom, and Standard. Though there is absolutely no official communication from the Royal Enfield about the expected rate hike as of now.

The 650 twins are made around the same feature and platform the same chassis and mechanicals. The powerplant is a 649cc twin-cylinder unit able to produce 53 Nm of peak torque and 47 PS of maximum power. Dual-channel ABS is even part of the standard package.

Although the majority of the components are the same, both motorbikes cater to totally different sets of bikers. The Continental GT 650 has a committed riding posture alongside clip-on handlebars and a squared off tank catering to the fans of Café Racer. On the other flip, the Interceptor 650 is motorbike for retro fans with its tear-drop shaped fuel tank and a comfortable riding posture.

The motorcycles are hoped to see a price hike of about Rs 20,000. Recently, the Interceptor 650 retails at Rs 2.50 lakh and the Continental GT is priced at 2.50.
