Rise of the backbone of the building and construction industries
by RAJ KAMAL Technology, Travel,Health & MedicalDiesel generators are a
combination of diesel engines with an electric generator. Diesel generators are
used to generate electricity. They are usually used as a contingency plan.
Diesel generators are used when emergency power is required, and power cuts
can't be afforded. The construction and building industry depend heavily on
electricity; therefore, diesel generators are the backbone of building and
construction industries.
Why
is a constant power supply important?
Construction companies rely on electricity for many reasons, such as excavations, leveling of land,
constructing roads, constructing bridges, mixing concrete, operating electric
cranes and other heavy machines, etc. Construction jobs like roads, bridges-
all require a continuous and extensive supply of power.
How
fast is the construction and building industry of India growing?
With the growing population
and the vision of housing for all by 2020, it makes sense that there would soon
be a massive requirement for infrastructure. Building all this infrastructure
to accommodate everybody's needs and wants will require electricity, and
therefore, diesel generators will be crucial to the cause.
While solar-powered
generators are also available as a second option, but, diesel generators are
the first option. This is because diesel generators are more comfortable to
manufacture and there is a higher scope of scalability when it comes to
producing diesel generators, as compared to solar-powered generators.
Is
there competition in the generators' manufacturing industry?
There is a lot of competition
when it comes to generators. Solar generators and hybrid generators are
competing for space with diesel generators. Yet, diesel generators have the
lead. Diesel generators are manufactured in the unorganized sector as well as
the organized or localized sectors. Both the sectors/markets offer custom-built
generators as well, depending on consumers' needs and requirements. These
custom-built generators are harder to match by the large manufacturers. Even
then, the small-time manufacturers are not necessarily competitors of the large
companies. They are usually considered as contemporaries. Both these sectors
are equally important to keep up with the market's dynamic and changing
requirements in terms of features and quantity.
Features of a complete
generator system include an engine, alternator, a cooling system, a control
panel, output connections, and a fuel tank. Along with these components are an
attenuated sound enclosure and a trailer with ball pitch.
All these components
together make up a diesel generator, which is the backbone of the building and
construction industry.
