RFID stands for Radio-frequency Identification which makes use of electromagnetic field in order to identify or track various tags attached to items. On the tags, there is information stored electronically. There may be two kinds of tags, namely, passive and active tag. While the passive tags just collect energy from the nearby RFID reader, the active tag has its own local power source. It was Walmart retail shop which took initiative in the year 2003 to introduce case level and pallet level RFID tagging. At present, there are around 500 suppliers who participate in the initiative. RFID tag suppliers India should be RFID complaint when it comes to outer case or pallet level tagging. RFID suppliers that are not compliant will get a target date to comply with RFID. Well, the item level tagging is extremely beneficial and leverages on technology.

RFID tags help to manage product inventory and assets

So, you have a huge product inventory to manage. To maintain or manage the inventory, you can utilize RFID tag system. It helps to manage, control or account for your assets or inventory of products. The smart bar codes help in the transmission of data through radio frequency to system receiver. The tags may be used to transmit any data and not only the numerical identifier. Such systems were used to manage and track livestock once. Since it has unparallel tracking ability, grocers and manufacturers are using it.

The working of RFID integrated reader

RFID integrated reader mostly has 4 components in all. They are the host computer, an antenna, a reader and the tag. It is the host computer which first initiates the process of interrogation or query and then asks reader to interrogate with the help of antenna. The antenna then broadcasts electromagnetic waves over the given range. When the tag passes through the range, it detects the signal from the reader and further the reader reads encoded information on the tag. The information is then sent to the host computer. The tag may be either passive or active. RFID integrated reader manufacturers in India caters to buying requirements. RFID is just a compliance tool that overlooks the benefits of automated identification technology.
