SportsVisio Announces $3.1 Million in Seed Funding to Launch Sports AI Technology Platform
SportsVisio (Sportsvisio.com ), an industry leader in sports artificial intelligence (AI) technology, announced the closing of a $3.1 million seed round led by Hyperplane Venture Capital this week. Along with participation from additional strategic investors, the funds are being directed toward scaling the company’s Computer Vision AI technology to automate statistics, analytics and video highlights for sports, starting with basketball.
In addition to Hyperplane, SportsVisio’s round included participation from Geek Ventures, Sovereign's Capital and a number of strategic investors/groups.
John Murphy, Founder & Managing Partner at Hyperplane shared that “with the advances in edge devices over the past several years, we've seen a dramatic decrease in the cost to deploy computer vision applications at scale. We're excited that SportsVisio is able to leverage this to bring sophisticated, professional quality stat tracking to amateur leagues at a price point that makes sense."
SportsVisio’s team has now grown to over 20 members, building world class technology and launching with customers this fall.
