Revealed: Stages Design for 2016

Stage designing is one of the most anticipated element of the Eurovision Song Content along with the artistic theme work of the itinerary the songs every year. Swedish broadcaster SVT has exposed the news that the stage design for 2016 is all set to describe the songs in a unique and powerful way.
The set which was expected to represent the Eurovision Song Content, designed by Viktor Brattstrom and Frida Arvidsson, both were also decorated the stage of 2013 Eurovision Song Content in Malmo. The lighting was being used as a strong component in designing as to create the depth. Viktor Brattstrom has stated, “We want to do something that makes people wonder if it’s even possible,” he added, “Normally an LED wall is a flat background wall at the very end of the stage. We have broken up the wall and made it possible for people to move inside it.”
By reflecting on the design of 2016 as compared to the stage of 2013 in Malmo, Frida Arvidsson has said, “Back then we focused on a softer expression with no pixels and projections. This year we are trying to play with the room and create optical illusions.”
The producer of the stage of the song content, Sven Stojanovic was very impressed with the plannings of design of the stage, said, “It’s really a great looking stage, giving us something that we haven’t seen before. In a way the stage gives us almost unlimited possibilities but at the same time forcing us to think in a new way. Creatively it’s both challenging and inspiring.”
