We will recover an old publication to explain again how to renovate the different sanitary elements of our bathroom in a simple and economical way. We will focus especially on the bathtub since it is one of the elements that deteriorate the most and one of the best ones if they are well enameled.

For daily use and time it is logical that the different pieces that make up our toilet can have a degraded and deteriorated appearance. This degradation can be more pronounced in any particular element but none of them will be exempt from degrading little apoco.

When the sanitary elements of our bathroom present this aspect we have two solutions to fix them. The first, and more expensive, is to change them for new ones, with the work that this causes in addition to the annoying rubble, dust, and the risk that when making the change some pipe can be damaged. We must also take into account that some tiles can be broken by chopping and removing the old ones and it is possible that we will not find spare parts in the stores, therefore we will have to make sure we have replacement tiles if we choose this method to reform the bathroom. To get the best service click bathtub and tile resurfacing.

If we are not handyman, we must also hire a mason and a plumber to carry out the work.

Another much simpler method, and also more economical, is to paint the bathtub, or any other sanitary element of the bathroom, with a special two-component ceramic enamel. A simple job, and very easy to do for anyone, with which we avoid debris, hire professionals and considerable savings in our piggy bank.

We will explain in steps how we should proceed to prepare and glaze a bathtub correctly.

1. First of all it will be to repair the possible damages that the bathtub may have due to blows or because the enamel is jumped. If this is the case, we will have to repair these areas with a Soft Polyester Putty. A putty that will get an extra soft finish and that will make the damage disappear completely to the touch. Once dry, it will be necessary to give a smooth sanding, both to the parts restored with putty and the rest of the surface to remove a little any possible rest of limes or other embedded remains and facilitate that the enamel adheres better on the surface.

2. Once the restoration and sanding tasks have been completed, we will proceed to clean the bathtub. For cleaning, we will act exactly as we indicated in our publication on how to paint tiles correctly and clean the surface without using abrasive cleaners to prevent them from leaving traces of chemicals on the surface that subsequently hinder the enamel grip on the surface.

3. We already have the bathtub repaired and clean, now we will proceed to glaze with the Bath paint Bricotex. It is very important not to mix more bathtub paint and the catalyst than is estimated to be used; It is preferable to make the mixture several times than pouring too much and having to throw away the excess. Remember that the paint in contact with the catalyst starts a hardening process that no longer stops even if the container is completely closed.
