Polishing is a rigorous and harsh process which is used to remove oxidation, prevent contamination, prevent corrosion etc. In both the process ideally a buff wheel is used which rotates at a speed while a glue or waxing agent is applied to get the desired effect on the surface of the metal, in this case the body of the automobile. For example the most rigorous cleaning will be required for heavy vehicle cleaning.
