Spicy Poha or chivda has long been a favorite breakfast dish in many parts of India. This will allow you to start the day perfectly and enthusiastically. Spicy Poha is not easy to prepare but is lighter, rich in iron and carbohydrates, and has a low glycemic index. Rice, on the other hand, is high in simple carbohydrates, which have long been associated with insulin changes, lethargy, and weight gain.

How is Spicy Poha Produced?

Spicy Poha is prepared by partially cooking the rice and then drying it for hours until slightly harder in the sun. They are then ground and flattened to form “flat rice” or Spicy Poha. It does not undergo much processing and is usually not polished. White rice is bleached to such an extent that it removes nutrients and fiber content. For comparison, Spicy Poha is less processed and lighter in terms of cooking and digestion.

Source of Iron

Sun-dried spicy poha passes through iron rolls when flattened. It is therefore a high amount of iron because it contains a portion of the iron in the flattening process. Population groups at high risk of pregnancy anemia, such as pregnant women, are generally recommended to consume Spicy Poha. A slice of lemon juice in a bowl of Spicy Poha will provide you with vitamin C, which is needed for proper absorption of iron.

Rich in Healthy Carbohydrates

Spicy Poha is the best breakfast food because it contains about 70% healthy carbohydrates and 30% fats. So, if you want to continue your fuel day, Spicy Poha works well. On the other hand, consuming rice causes people to fall asleep and can affect their performance during the day.

Low in Calories

A bowl of spicy poha cooked with vegetables contains about 250 calories, while the same amount of fried rice contains 333 calories. This is a very good dish that will keep you full longer. Some people also add roasted peanuts to improve the flavor but keep in mind that this will increase the number of calories. Therefore, if you are trying to lose weight, it is better to miss it.

Benefits of Probiotics

This may come as a surprise, but spicy poha has probiotic benefits. The process of producing poha forces it to ferment. It keeps the good bacteria that result from the metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates and keeps the gut healthy! This benefit does not come with white rice.
