Not too long ago, England ruled over many countries of the world – a fact that shows how sheer grit and determination could enable people of a relatively tiny country travel thousands of miles away at a time when air travel was still a dream, fight and win battles and establish their governance. As such, first and foremost it must be said that England is famous for its illustrious people throughout the ages who achieved such great heights with strategic planning, that others will find it difficult to match.

Food

Many surveys have been done to establish the various aspects for which England is famous and the latest one surprisingly shows that the best thing that the residents like about their country is a humble bacon sandwich and the second place is taken by a traditional roast dinner. The survey of 60,000 Brits showed that they simply love their cup of tea, which occupied the third position. Food is dominant in the top ten, with fish and chips and the Yorkshire Pudding coming in at ninth and tenth respectively. The poll also revealed that cheese is considered to be a great national treasure, with cheddar coming in at 13th on the list while the Queen trailed behind in 15th.

While such findings may reflect the opinions of the present day Brits and their love of food and drinks, there are many other reasons why England is so famous.
