Reasons why CAPM has become a popular certification course

Lately CAPM® is growing a lot of fan base and popularity in the project management industry. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) is an entry-level course certification based on Project Management Institute’s framework for Project management.

Why CAPM® has gained popularity?


CAPM® was introduced in 2003. However in few years since its inception, its popularity has risen substantially. The reason being, unlike other Project management a course, CAPM® does not require you to have Project Management experience as a pre-requisite. A secondary diploma and any experience of 1500 hours or 23 hrs of Project management education is required to be eligible to take up this course.

The difficulty level of the test is not in extremes. With good knowledge and efforts one can answer the 150 multiple choice questions and pass the test and be a certified Project Manager.

CAPM® Professional Certification is perfect to have if you want to start off in a Project management industry as CAPM® exam is based on the guidelines of PMBOK. Hence it can a stepping stone to certifications like PMP, which you might want to pursue after a few years as this exam will cover almost 40% of the syllabus for PMP.
