Rachel Zoe's advice on dressing for the holidays

Figuring out what to wear for the holidays can be tough, especially if you need to come up with multiple outfits! Between Christmas parties, holiday galas, fundraising events and lavish meals, we sometimes find ourselves at a loss for the perfect outfit.

Thankfully Rachel Zoe is here to help, and not only does she have some fabulous ideas, but she's recommended some festive products she loves for you to shop right here!

So what exactly does the fashion guru advise is the perfect go-to holiday party look? "My go-to holiday look is either a tuxedo jumpsuit or sequin top paired with my favorite wide-leg trousers from my collection...and obviously a pair of sky-high heels," she said.

It can be easy to get caught in the trap of the same old look for every festive occasion, so Zoe prefers a tuxedo or tailored jumpsuit as a way to better stand out from the crowd.

And the only thing worse than a boring outfit during the holidays? Fashion faux pas like skipping tights with an outfit that requires them. So what are the fashionista's thoughts on bare legs versus tights for holiday events?

"I think it depends on two things: the climate and how much you're baring up top," she said. "I love a long-sleeve mod shift dress with bare legs or a sequin mini dress paired with tights and a faux fur worn over your shoulders -- I think both can be winter appropriate," but it's definitely important to know when you should and shouldn't opt for more coverage!

Lastly, Zoe understands that flattering pieces may be exceptionally important during the holidays when stylish women may be indulging a bit more than usual, so to combat anything that doesn't make us all look our very best, "black is your best friend!" she says.
