It is a common practice for the celebrant to choose special friends to be present in what is called Court of Honor. Mostly they are young siblings, or close friends. The court can consist of all girls called Damas, all boys called Chambelanes, or can be a mix of girls and boys. The quinceañera usually wears a ball gown and her court has the traditional attire of gowns and tuxedos.
